What Is LNAT?
The Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT) is a standardized test used by several UK universities as part of the admissions process for their Law programs. It assesses the aptitude of candidates for the study of Law, focusing on their reading comprehension and essay writing skills, rather than any prior knowledge of law.
Where Can I Take The LNAT Test?
The Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT) is administered by Pearson VUE, a company that runs test centers worldwide. Therefore, you can take the LNAT at any Pearson VUE test center that offers the test, regardless of your location. These test centers are located in many cities across the globe, allowing candidates to choose a location that's most convenient for them. To find the nearest test center, you can use the "Find a test center" tool on the Pearson VUE website. Keep in mind that availability can vary, so it's advisable to book your test as early as possible to secure your preferred date and location. Additionally, you should regularly check the LNAT website and Pearson VUE website for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
When Do I have To Take LNAT?
You normally have to take the test between the 1st of September and the 25th January. The exception to this is if you are applying to Oxford, Cambridge or the London School of Economics. In these cases you need to sit LNAT on or before the 16th October for Oxford or Cambridge and on or before the 31st December for LSE. Make sure you check the LNAT and university websites for the most up to date information.
What Is A Good LNAT Score?
LNAT is not a high scoring test, most people struggle to score over 50%. Section A is scored out of 42 and a score of 27 would be a score sufficient for Oxford. Section B is scored by different universities in different ways, see our article "LNAT Universities" above for more information.
What's The Best Way To Prepare For LNAT?
The best way to prepare for LNAT is for Section A to begin early reading material similar to the texts which appear in the questions to develop your reading comprehension skills and then to practice those skills as much as possible with many practice questions. For Section B you should develop an essay writing model suitable for the task and similarly practice writing as many essays as possible. In our Online LNAT course you can get 200+ realistic LNAT Practice Questions together with our unique essay structure and essay writing advice plus plenty of other tips and strategies for the test.
